As a Reliability Engineer, your primary role will involve formulating site strategies, plans, and objectives aimed at optimizing assets to enhance sugar cane crushing and sugar recovery operations across our eight North Queensland factories and Bioethanol Distillery. You will provide support to projects, planning, design & technical functions within your area of responsibility.
This position offers flexibility in location, allowing you to be stationed at any of our milling sites. You could be in Ingham - a charming town known for its vibrant Italian heritage and lush wetlands, the Burdekin region - celebrated for its rich agricultural landscape and friendly community, or Sarina - nestled in the beautiful Whitsunday region, renowned for its stunning beaches and proximity to the Great Barrier Reef.
Occasional travel to other locations will also be part of the role, providing opportunities to engage with diverse teams and projects broadening you experience and professional network.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assist in developing and managing all strategic aspects of the asset management strategy, covering areas including, production, engineering, productivity, quality control, human resources, and safety.
- Develop budgeting process for preventative maintenance and capital programs, ensuring effective cost management.
- Develop long-term asset goals and implement maintenance and replacement strategies to achieve revenue generation and cost control objectives.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operational management teams to develop and implement business plans and objectives.
- Review operational and financial data to identify areas for improvement and apply best practices to drive business benefits.
- Identify and manage risks by developing and executing targeted risk management strategies.
- Work closely with Group Managers for Engineering, Design, Projects, Operations and Production and Technology to develop long-term factory and capital plans, goals, and strategies.
- Ensure best practice whilst investigating the root causes of equipment failures and implementing solutions.
- Ensure compliance with reliability processes, work management practices, procedures, and technical standards related to continuous improvement.
- Provide technical support to site engineering personnel with regards to engineering and standard application
The Successful Applicant
Our ideal candidate will hold a degree in Engineering or be able to demonstrate equivalent practical experience with at least 5 years in a senior technical role within similar heavy industry. Previous experience within the sugar industry, proficiency in SAP software, and experience with boilers or turbines will be highly regarded.
