Sensorem is seeking a Remote (Drone) Pilot based in NSW.
Start date: Immediate
For this role, we’re seeking more than just a qualified drone pilot. The successful candidate will have a deep interest in remote sensing technology, show attention to detail, have excellent communication skills, and consider safety as the number one priority.
Candidates must be comfortable operating in a team environment, and equally, be able to work independently on projects in regional and remote areas.
All positions are permanent, full-time contracts.
This role will involve operating the DJI Enterprise drone, including Drone-in-a-Box RPAS solution on inspection and survey projects in metro, regional, and remote areas. Our Remote (Drone) Pilots are also trained to use the latest terrestrial laser/pano camera systems for rooftop and industrial inspections.

Sensorem has been a leading remote sensing solutions provider since 2013, specialising in drone asset inspection, aerial surveying, mobile LiDAR mapping, and remote drone operations. Our projects span the country and are managed from our Operations Centre in Perth.
Sensorem is an Aerodyne Group company – an international DT3 enterprise solutions provider.
We operate a range of the latest enterprise drone platforms, including multi-rotor, powered lift, collision tolerant, NDT, and Drone-in-a-Box.
Responsibilities:
- Plan work and safely operate company drone and remote sensing equipment to acquire high-quality inspection and survey data.
- Complete inspection forms and post inspection documentation.
- Manage large datasets acquired on-site, ready for post-processing through our data processing centre.
Essential:
- CASA RePL (multi-rotor up to 7kgs)
- Experience operating DJI M3E (or similar) multi-rotor drones
- 50+ hours drone experience
- Experience in commercial drone operations
- Sound understanding of the CASA drone regulations
- Ability to perform job safety analysis and risk identification
- Willingness to travel to regional areas of the country for periods up to 10 days
- Valid driver’s licence
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable:
- CASA RePL (multi-rotor up to 25kgs)
- Commercial drone experience on digital twin or complex inspection projects
- Aeronautical radio operators licence (AROC)
- Background in mining, asset inspection, engineering or surveying
- Senior first-aid
- Construction induction training (White card)
- Experience in using drone mapping and photogrammetry software to plan missions
- 4WD experience
