About Our Client
Our client operates four Renal Health Centres in the Kimberley region, which faces one of the highest incidences of kidney disease in Australia, with chronic and end-stage kidney disease disproportionately affecting the Aboriginal population.
The prevalence of dialysis in this region has tripled over the past decade, highlighting the urgent need for dedicated healthcare professionals.
In collaboration with regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS), our client has developed a strategic renal plan to address this health crisis. This initiative has enabled many patients to return to Kimberley from Perth, 2,500 km away, to receive treatment closer to home.
About the Opportunity
opportunity for a dedicated Registered Nurse Level 1 to join the team in Broome, WA, on a full-time basis
Reporting to the Renal Services Manager, you will manage a client caseload and deliver culturally safe nursing care by unit protocols and best practice guidelines.
Some of your key responsibilities will include;
- Supervise new staff and assist in their education.
- Provides a holistic approach to client care, contributing to the multidisciplinary team and making referrals as needed.
- Takes a Shift Coordinator role
- Contributes to the development and implementation of continuous quality improvement at the Renal Health Centre
To succeed in this position, you must be already registered with AHPRA
In this fast-paced role, you must function effectively in emergency and high-stress situations in a changing work environment while maintaining high professionalism and work ethic.
You will also have well-developed interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
Competency in the use of computer programs is required.
You will also be committed to the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Control and will always act in a culturally appropriate manner.
While not essential, candidates with at least 18 months of experience in haemodialysis nursing or working towards a Certificate in Nephrology will be held in high regard.
You must hold a current ‘C’ Class Driver’s License.
Your employment will also be subject to a National Police Clearance.
