The Midfield Group is privately owned and operates a true ‘Paddock to Plate’ experience as we own farms, factories, and distribution as to ensure we retain control of the key elements of the process of getting livestock from paddock to plate.
We are currently seeking a skilled Rendering Plant Operator to join our team in Warrnambool Victoria.
About the Role:
This role is responsible for the operation of state of the art computer controlled process equipment, cooker, machinery, and evaluation of any process problems in addition to performing product quality testing to ensure QA standards are met.
Operate equipment and control processes in the production of high quality/high value animal protein products and fat, successfully applying learned knowledge of processes and production methods
Monitor gauges related to times, pressures, and temperatures
Monitor product flow with respect to smooth and unrestricted movement of product through the entire system utilising SCADA – managing inputs and outputs
Ensure all quality standards, work instructions and safety requirements are met
Log pertinent information into log sheets at appropriate intervals
When necessary, sample product in accordance with established methods and procedures
Perform basic operator troubleshooting and repair of equipment
Maintain a clean work area including proper care and storage of tools/equipment
About You:
Prior experience in a rendering facility with HAARSLEV processing technology preferred
You must be reliable, physically fit and willing to work as part of a team
Communicate effectively both written and verbal
Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work
Basic computer operational skills; able to input and retrieve computerised information
Ability to work with minimum supervision and adapt to a changing environment quickly
Ability to follow written, verbal instructions and complete simple checklists and complete required documentation
You must pass a drug & alcohol test and be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical if required
You have already had a Q Fever vaccination or are willing to participate in the vaccination process
Good mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting; skilled in general mechanics and safe operation of equipment
Forklift License would be highly regarded but not essential
Ability to deal with minor problems involving equipment or various situations
Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed
