Our flagship daily metropolitan masthead The West Australian is eager to add an experienced business reporter to its ranks.  We are seeking a creative professional with a keen eye for detail and a genuine passion for storytelling. You must be curious about the world around you, enthusiastic, empathetic and eager. To thrive in this role you will have excellent writing and communication skills and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, including being flexible with your hours and the ability to turn around high-quality content in tight timeframes. You will also have a keen news sense, an enviable contact list and a deep understanding of how the business sector operates.

About you

• Strong writing skills;
• At least three-to-five years’ experience as a reporter, with a proven track record of breaking stories;
• A solid network of contacts in the business world and an acute under;
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Flexible with working hours and deadline driven.

About the role – you will:

• Create quality, accurate content for various platforms to keep our audience informed;

Liaise with our network of reporters across the country to deliver comprehensive coverage;

• Adapt to a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment, often working under tight deadlines;
• Be exposed to incredible opportunities;
• Embrace flexible work hours, including availability for evenings, weekends, and occasional travel as required.
