  • Remuneration: $90,916 to $102,545 pa (HEW5) (inclusive of $76,825 to $86,652 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
  • Location: Kelvin Grove (hybrid option available)
  • Open to: Current staff members of QUT who have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of the fixed-term appointment. Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Research Administration Assistant to join School of Nursing, Faculty of Health, Academic Division.

The Research Administration Assistant will undertake a range of activities associated with projects being undertaken in end-of-life and palliative care. The appointee will work in a team environment providing administration and logistical support to research staff in a busy office. The focus of the position is project management support for large externally funded projects, requiring an appointee with strong organisational and communication skills.

About the Cancer & Palliative Outcomes Centre (CPC)

The Cancer & Palliative Care Outcomes Centre includes four of the Faculty’s most successful Programs:

•    Palliative Care 
•    Cancer Survivorship
•    Personalised Cancer Care
•    Child and Youth Cancer and Palliative Care

Established and emerging clinicians, researchers and educators from a range of health disciplines collaborate through CPC to improve the quality of health care provided to people across all stages of the cancer trajectory, as well as people living with a range of life-limiting conditions. 
The real world emphasis of QUT’s research and the success of its world class researchers have had significant impacts on policy and practice.

The research activity within the Centre focuses on a broad range of contemporary health-care related issues including:

•    Health Services Innovation
•    Integrated Care Models
•    Health Workforce Development
•    Symptom Management

Researchers have a range of collaborative research arrangements with health service providers in Queensland and strong national and international research partnerships.

We have strong engagement with consumers, clinical partners and health decision makers through a range of joint appointments and collaborative research, learning, and teaching arrangements..

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of an associate diploma level qualification with two years relevant work-related experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training;
  2. Demonstrated experience with various administrative activities, ideally within a research environment;
  3. Demonstrated general organisational skills including the ability to manage time and high volume tasks efficiently and meet tight deadlines within the context of competing demands;
  4. Demonstrated digital literacy skills including intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, email and internet;
  5. Demonstrated high level attention to detail in data entry, document handling, and data base applications;
  6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  7. Proven ability to take initiative and to make a positive contribution within a team.
