About the role:
To protect Australians from harmful climate change, we must phase out coal, oil and gas as quickly as possible, and embrace clean energy and industry instead. As the Research and Policy Adviser for Climate Council’s Beyond Fossil Fuels program, you will play a leading role in identifying real, evidence based solutions to end the use of Fossil Fuels and accelerate the roll out of clean alternatives. Your work will drive Climate Council’s communications, advocacy and campaigning agenda to turn good ideas into real change.
This is a permanent full time role working 38 hours a week, with the ability to be flexible as required from time to time. We are open to flexible work options, let us know how you like to work. (This role can be based in our Melbourne, Canberra or Sydney offices)
As a Research and Policy Adviser at the Climate Council you will be able to:
- Ideate, design and deliver impactful Research and Policy on phasing out Fossil Fuels, growing clean industries like critical minerals and clean manufacturing, and enabling alternative energy sources.
- Engage and influence stakeholders and partners across government, industry and the Australian climate and environment movement.
- Provide research input for media, advocacy and community campaigns, to generate meaningful engagement with the public on climate change issues.
- Contribute and build in-depth subject matter expertise on one of the most critical areas to tackle the climate challenge
- Be on the front line of scientific, technical, policy and economic developments in the fast-moving climate space.
