The Scientific Services department exists to ensure the continuity and quality of research undertaken at the Garvan and the Building Operations department exists to ensure the continuity and quality of building engineering services, the maximisation of the life of building fabric plant and equipment, minimising running costs of the same.THE OPPORTUNITYThe Scientific Services & Building Operations Technical Officer/Administration Assistant will be responsible for data entry of all major and minor modifications and maintenance projects into our systems, assist in the quote and job management process, schedule appointments and jobs for the Scientific Services and Building Operations team, file and maintain records and undertake other duties and functions consistent with the area of work responsibility. - Proven computer literacy and strong keyboard skills with speed and accuracy.
- Confidence in working with a range of software programs and proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel a priority).
- Establishing and maintaining efficient administrative systems and procedures.
- General administration and support tasks as required.
- Proven experience working in a high workload and pressure area with successful track records.
- Demonstrated strong customer focus and commitment to providing exceptional services to all clients (internal and external to the organisation).
- Well developed time management and organisational skills with the ability to organise and prioritise workload.
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Scientific Services Manager & Building Operations Manager.
- A degree is science highly regarded but not necessary.
