The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to join our Sarcoma Translational Research Team!
The Sarcoma Translational Research team aims to develop new, safe, and effective therapies for children with sarcoma.
The purpose of this role is to conduct biomedical research into paediatric cancer with the goal of finding new treatments. More specifically, you will be involved in designing and applying mRNA immunotherapy in mouse models, combined with lab bench immunology, tissue culture and molecular biology work under the supervision of post-doctoral researchers.
Conveniently based at Perth Children’s Hospital this position will be offered on a Full time Basis until February 2025.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in biological or related science field and have experience in cell biology and molecular biology techniques (in vitro cell culture, PCR etc.)
Along with this the ideal applicant will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Outstanding personal initiative and the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to set goals, develop priorities, follow standard operating procedures, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer literacy and attention to detail.
- Sound understanding of PC2 laboratory working practices.
