An opportunity to join a multidisciplinary research team as a Research Associate researching the quality and safe use of medicinesPart - time (0.6 FTE), fixed term position for 12 monthsBase Salary starting at $105,350 (pro - rata) + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityThe Sydney Pharmacy School is recognised as one of the leading centres for pharmacy research in the world. Our team of researchers lead key internationally competitive research from medication management to co-design, as well as from patient to policy across a range of therapeutic areas. The University of Sydney has a unique opportunity for a suitable candidate to join a multidisciplinary team within the School of Pharmacy as a Research Associate. The 12-month research project involves the development and review of an evidence-based resource that aims to foster the safe use of complementary medicines through the prevention, detection, and clinical management of drug-herb interactions. We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Research Associate with advanced skills in the retrieval and critical appraisal of literature, and scientific writing to develop drug-herb interaction monographs for an educational platform accessed by healthcare professionals. The Research Associate will also have the opportunity to be involved in other scholarly work related to drug-herb interactions.Your key responsibilities will be to:conduct research, scholarly or professional activity, independently or as part of a team, contributing to discipline knowledge within the project timeline.develop and refine independent research skills under the supervision of more senior academic staff.contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of though, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled.understand and contribute to furthering the university and faculty/school strategic agenda.About youTo be successful in this role, you have:preferred PhD or PhD candidate with experience in clinical pharmacology and complementary medicinesprofessional background in healthcare (e.g. Pharmacy, medicine, medical science)skills in critical appraisal and literature reviewscholarly scientific writing skills excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with day-to-day operational matters.demonstrated understanding of the subject-matter within the discipline experience conducting original research and/or engaging in scholarly activity.knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative research methods knowledge of the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, Good Clinical Practice and Guidelines governing clinical researchexperience in a research-intensive environment or interest in teaching and working in academia.
