Climate-KIC Australia was established in 2017 to catalyse climate action through systems innovation. Recognising that no single organisation or individual can change systems and solve the climate challenge on their own, Climate-KIC works with a broad network of organisations to develop and deliver systems innovation activities. We often play an orchestrating role, leveraging our collaborative network, bringing systems change intent and agency, working with diverse stakeholders, using a broad range of skills, capabilities and knowledge that increases the effectiveness and scale of our impact.Climate-KIC Australia works within the UTS Institute for Sustainable Futures and collaborates with EIT Climate-KIC Europe's largest climate innovation initiative.
About the role
Are you passionate about leading cutting-edge projects to support the building of a climate resilient future? We are looking for practitioners or researchers with extensive climate change adaptation and resilience experience who are capable of contributing to high-impact project delivery.
The Research Director Adaptation and Resilience has responsibility for:
- Leading and managing complex, innovative projects, that meet the demands of funders and large stakeholder groups.
- Playing a key role in business development, identifying opportunites and leading the development of external funding proposals across Adaptation and Resilience.
- Supervision of project teams across Climate-KIC and ISF.
- Participating in strategic planning for Climate-KIC and ISF.The Research Director should have the skills / ability to:
- Design and manage complex, impactful projects• Build and maintain strong stakeholder and professional networks
- Provide leadership in the Adaptation and Resilience space• Have an excellent understanding of system thinking and approaches
- Work well independently and as part of a team
Remuneration
Base Salary Range: $145,237 to $166,792 pa (Level C) plus 17% superannuation
The level of appointment is dependent upon skills and competencies.
The university offers 17% employer provided superannuation and salary packaging opportunities.
This appointment will be on a 2-year fixed term, full time/part-time basis.
