Mater Research are looking for a Research Engagement Officer to join the team! This permanent, full-time role will be based between the Translational Research Institute and South Brisbane campuses.
Salary range: $87,674 - $95,892 (MRI Admin Lvl 7) FTE base salary plus superannuation and salary packaging
What you’ll be doing
You will support the Research Engagement and Grants Manager in providing expert assistance and advice to Mater’s research community by:
- Improving preparedness for external funding opportunities
- Promoting engagement with key stakeholder partnership opportunities
- Facilitating biomedical and clinical research integration
- Supporting communication strategies to increase research and Institute reputation
- supporting preparation of reports on organisation performance
- They will collaborate closely with the Team to ensure a smooth and effective experience for researchers

About you
You will have a degree in a relevant health research discipline or equivalent knowledge in research administration
- Current knowledge of legislation, guidelines, standards and requirements relating to research administration or a demonstrated ability to acquire this knowledge
- Demonstrated highly developed administrative skills, including high-level proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite, Endnote and practical skills in analytics and reporting
- Demonstrated interpersonal and service skills and ability to communicate and influence diverse stakeholders. Ability to provide effective support that promotes the development of self-help skills
- Knowledge of major National competitive funding schemes or the ability to rapidly assimilate this information
- Experience in relevant administration areas in the research and higher education sectors
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team, establish work priorities, set realistic goals, and meet deadlines
- Competency in health research terminology and an ability to communicate meaningfully about health-related research
- Experience in science communication and promotion
- Doctor of Philosophy in relevant research field (desirable)
