We are proud to be the Australian leader in supplier diversity, established in 2009 to connect our membership of Australia's leading brands and government with Indigenous businesses across the country.

Our rigorous registration and certification processes ensure our members can be confident of Indigenous ownership. With Indigenous businesses active in every state and territory, in every industry sector, we have been central to the growth of a new economic force.

Our values guide the way we work with our members and suppliers, within our communities and with each other. Through integrity, accountability, collaboration, excellence and empowerment, we create a culture where ideas flourish and a difference is made. We work together to transform the Indigenous business sector.

The Opportunity

We are now looking for a full-time Community Engagement Officer based in Darwin, NT.

  • Serving as the primary contact for Indigenous businesses, fostering connections
  • Offering insights and trend analysis to guide strategic engagement approaches
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication channels with stakeholders
  • Representing Supply Nation at relevant events and educating on its mission
  • Assisting in the development of communication and promotional materials
What We Need From You

To qualify, you will need demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures, and issues affecting Indigenous Australians in business. Experience in Community Engagement, especially within Indigenous contexts, will also be essential.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • High level communication and liaison skills
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports and general correspondence
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills
  • A strong commitment to customer service

As our ideal candidate, you will possess interpersonal skills that demonstrate a positive approach to client service and managing expectations of suppliers. You should be someone who cares deeply about cultural values and integrity and stands up for what you believe in. This role is perfect for someone who is proactive, responsive, and ready to take on challenges to foster and improve Indigenous business engagement.

This is a pivotal role that requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about making a difference in the Indigenous business sector and committed to excellence in all aspects of their work.

Please note: This is an Identified Position. Being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement.

Benefits

The successful candidate will be rewarded with an attractive salary circa $80,000 (commensurate with skills and experience) PLUS Super and additional benefits including:

  • Salary packaging
  • Flexible working arrangements (work from home up to 2 days per week!)
