About the Role
The Development Services branch is responsible for enabling sustainable development for the community on the Sunshine Coast by working with industry stakeholders to achieve timely, customer focused development assessment services, advice and advocacy in the areas of planning, engineering, environment, landscape, building, plumbing and legislative compliance.
The Business Engagement Officer manages and delivers internal and external stakeholder engagement and information functions for the Branch, in accordance with organisational communication and engagement frameworks as well as Development Services Customer Charter and Stakeholder Management Plan.
- Proactively develop, manage, deliver, and improve all Branch internal and external stakeholder relations, interactions, and engagement for development service functions.
- Support and assist the Branch Manager and Branch leadership team with preparation and release of internal and external communication.
- Oversee and deliver Branch communication activities and events.
- Manage, update and promote a centralised knowledge base for the Branch, to enhance the customer experience from all communication channels.
This position has relocated to Sunshine Coast City Hall, based in the heart of Maroochydore CBD. This state of the art and sustainable building is designed to achieve an innovative and collaborative workspace.
About you
As a Business Engagement Officer, you will have demonstrated highly developed communication, engagement and interpersonal skills, aligned with our values and vision.
You will have strong case management, time management and organisational skills, to meet conflicting work priorities and a demonstrated ability to develop plans, coordinate actions, gain and to meet goals.
You will possess experience and strong skills in the preparation of professional business correspondence and other communication with demonstrated ability to operate effectively with relevant business systems technologies and webpage platforms.
As a requirement of this role, you will have recognised formal qualifications/accreditations in communication, business or similar and/or substantial demonstrated equivalent experience in the workplace in line with the position’s responsibilities.
Experience in government environments would be highly regarded.
