The Role
We are seeking an experienced Research Governance and Ethics Officer who is able to work independently and provide advice to a variety of stakeholders as well as having the ability to support the function high level committees such as the Justice Health Human Research Ethics Committee and the Research Advisory Committee.
The Research Governance and Ethics Officer works as an integral member of the Clinical and Corporate Governance team and is responsible for ensuring JHFMHN compliance with legislation, guidelines policies and procedures at national, state and local level governing the conduct of research.
We’re currently looking for a Research Governance and Ethics Officer who will:

• Be responsible for the development, delivery, review and evaluation of Research Governance activities. In addition, this position is responsible for the development and implementation of a wide range of policies and procedures relating to the governance of research in JHFMHN.
• Play a key role in the development, implementation and monitoring for currency of information on the website for the JHFMHN HREC and Research Governance.
• Bresponsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive database for the management of the information about research and researchers in JHFMHN.

The first step is to submit your resume and answers to the following selection criteria: * Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience.

• Demonstrated detailed knowledge of and experience in the National Statement on Ethical conduct in Human Research (2007); and other relevant Commonwealth and State legislation, regulations and guidelines related to the regulation of research involving humans, or the ability to quickly gain that knowledge.
• Demonstrated highly developed analytical skills and the ability to critique research applications and provide constructive feedback.
• Proven excellent written communications skills including experience in developing Research Governance policies and procedures.
• Proven excellent oral communications skills with the ability to communicate with a range of people from diverse backgrounds, including health professionals and researchers.
• Demonstrated highly developed organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise functions and a conscientious and methodical approach with attention to detail.
• Proven capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated experience and skills in various computer applications including Microsoft suite, Regis and use of internet.
