About our Monash Children’s Clinical Trial Centre
Monash Children’s Clinical Trial Centre Unit is a rapidly growing unit and currently has trials open across various phases and therapeutic areas which is on rapidly increasing trajectory. The ability to attract new trials and to establish a broad range of cutting-edge sponsored and investigator-led studies and investigating a variety of new therapies in a timely manner has led to the success of the Unit.
About The Role
We are excited to announce new Level 2 Research Nurse/Midwife position within Monash Children’s Clinical Trial Centre at Monash Childrens Hospital.
This role has responsibility for the delivery of direct and indirect care of trial participants and associated data collection for concurrent research studies undertaken in the trials unit.
This role has responsibility to conduct clinical and academic research projects under the direction and mentorship of the Manager/Supervisor (Nurse/Midwife). The incumbent will have responsibility for the delivery of direct and indirect research participant management and associated data collection. Under supervision, the incumbent will be responsible for:
- managing randomised trials
- conducting clinical studies and audits
- direct and indirect clinical trial related care within scope of practice
- input into ethics applications
- direct and indirect clinical trial related care within scope of practice
The incumbent will liaise with the manager/supervisor, their delegate(s), and relevant Monash Health personnel, to ensure appropriate participant recruitment, data collection and database management in clinical research studies and research audits as required. Mentoring will be provided for the development of research expertise.

About You
You are an experienced Registered Nurse with experience in conducting clinical trials who is confident in their ability to work unsupervised following Good Clinical Practise. You will be dedicated to safe best practice & quality care.
What You Need:
- Registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
- Experience in clinical trials
- Demonstrated understanding of establishment of clinical trials
- Demonstrated leadership ability working in multidisciplinary health care team
- Demonstrated understanding of clinical trial methodology and knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (ICHGCP) requirements
- Paediatric nurse experience is desirable but not mandatory
