Linear Clinical Research Ltd is an internationally recognised, not-for-profit. Founded by the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research (Perkins), Linear has Western Australia's only dedicated early phase clinical trials facilities located in Nedlands and Joondalup where we focus on early phase clinical trials across a broad range of therapeutic areas.
Here at Linear that includes a broad oncology portfolio that continues to expand having opened the Advanced Cancer Trials Centre (ACTC) in early 2024, the first of its kind facility in Australia dedicated to bringing novel therapies through clinical trials to the cancer patients of Western Australia. The ACTC is situated on the QEII Medical precinct, directly next to the WA State Cancer Centre.
Job Description
Your role in our future
This is a two days a week (Mondays and Tuesdays) chance to learn various aspects of Medical Oncology in a leading not-for-profit in a private hospital setting. As a new member of our team, you will:
- Conduct Patient consultations and review to ensure the patient is ready for their treatment
- Spend time reading and understanding clinical protocols
- Review results and perform medical assessments to ensure the safety of patients during treatments
- Attend clinical meetings with fellows, oncologist or haematologists and meetings with the pharmaceutical sponsor when a new trial commences
- Collaborate with the project and nursing team to answer medical queries raised by the pharmaceutical sponsor
- Maintain a strong quality focus in all day to day tasks
- Collaborate with the project and nursing team to ensure patient care is optimised and to answer medical queries raised by the pharmaceutical sponsor.
Your experience
Are you thinking, I don't have any previous experience in clinical trials, oncology or haematology? That would be helpful, but we find that true enthusiasm, a growth mindset and willingness to learn can be equally valuable. Here are the things we think make you ideal for this role:
- A medical degree and current Medical Practitioner registration with AHPRA
- Experience working in a hospital or maybe a clinical research setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team (which includes clinical and non-clinical staff).
- Enthusiasm, positivity and the genuine work ethic to 'get things done' safely and within the hours that you are with us.
