We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Person/ Handyman who will work as part of our small, friendly team and be responsible for the day to day maintenance of the resort. Reporting to the resort manager, this role will suit someone who is very hands on.
The successful candidate will have strong initiative, the ability to work under pressure, good presentation and a commitment to providing great guest service. Experience in a grounds/maintenance position in a busy hospitality environment is preferred, but not essential.
The position requires working in both guest and staff areas, so the ability to relate to people from all walks of life is essential.
Duties & responsibilities
- To provide management with assistance in maintaining the apartments, facilities and grounds, including assisting with the refurbishment of units and furniture removal/installation.
- Installing, connecting and troubleshooting some appliances, televisions, Wi-Fi and Foxtel in rooms for guests and owners, where specialised contractors are not required.
- Assisting guests where required.
- Ensuring the overall appearance and presentation of the resort grounds, apartments and gardens are to the highest possible standard, as well as ongoing lawn maintenance.
- Ensuring that the daily cleaning duties are performed to the highest possible standard.
- Complete all scheduled maintenance tasks in a professional and timely manner.
- Ability to maintain records is essential.
- Pool treatment/maintenance experience is highly regarded but not essential.
- Some cleaning of hotel areas such car park, fountains and surrounding areas will be required.
- Paint work and patching in rooms, as and when required.
- The ability to coordinate contractors.
- Ability to order and maintain stock.
- Willingness to cover cleaning shifts when required.
This role is initially a casual position and includes early mornings, weekends and public holidays where applicable.
