About the Role
You will be tasked with building and further improving on operational and business systems, compliance, analysis and reporting processes within our Sydney warehouse and partner depots, to monitor business activities and performance in all aspects of our Resource Recovery operations across Australia and New Zealand.
The successful candidate will be a driven individual who has a hands-on approach and thrives in a busy and ever-changing environment. Some business travels may be required to our 6 depot locations in Australia and New Zealand depending on operational needs. Attendance in the Sydney warehouse 2-3 days per week is desired.
Key Responsibilities:
- People Leader - Listen to, inspire and motivate your people, while building a high performing, resilient and supportive team culture as well as a strong working relationship with internal stakeholders and acting as a point of escalation for any problems.
- Operations planning - Manage all aspects of depot, warehouse and logistics planning and work closely with the Go-To-Market team and management to forecast business operation needs including facility, inventory volume, and staff resource allocation. Anticipate and track operational and tactical risks and provide strategic solutions.
- Service providers management - Develop, build and maintain strong relationships with our external service providers including depot operators and recycling partners. Work hand in hand with the Service Delivery Manager, ANZ to ensure a seamless service and relationship with our depot partners across Australia and New Zealand.
- Processes and systems - Ensure effective procurement, Resource Recovery and logistics processes, systems and infrastructure are in place and maintained to meet volume, delivery, quality and cost objectives.
- Operation performance - Set and manage standards and performance expectations to ensure the highest level of excellence in customer service, reliability and efficiency, and safety performance. Oversee and report weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics within our CRM, Salesforce.com.
- Continuous improvement - Identifies trends and assess opportunities to improve processes and execution.
- Change champion - Lead digital transformation initiatives within the operation function, partnering with Product Innovation and Customer Success teams to implement new processes and tools by supporting training programs, reinforcing tech and operations infrastructure within the operations team.
- Culture Driver- Drive accountability within the business and collaborate with other back-office team members to ensure seamless business execution, reinforce positive morale, and uphold company values.
- Compliance and OHS - Promote safety values and implement safety, health and environment policies and systems to embed safety into the culture and ways of working.
- Promote Sustainable Salons’ remit to employ supported employees within our Sydney warehouse
- Develop a ‘checks and balances’ system for recovery operations
- Develop a 3-5 year plan for depot operations to align with business growth
- Managing day to day operations, overseeing the budget, and profit / loss in Australia and New Zealand as it relates to our Depot, Warehouse and Logistics operations
- Ensuring flawless execution by recording all job and material collection information into our Salesforce CRM
ABOUT YOU
Essentials
- A minimum of 5 years' successful experience in Warehouse and Logistics Management or similar position
- Inventory Management skills
- A focus on providing excellent customer service
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with logistics software and computer systems
- Exhibit strong leadership skills; experience successfully supervising and directing teams
- Experienced at leading and implementing change
- Strong commercial acumen
- Planning, prioritisation and problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate with others effectively
- Ability to conduct research for special projects, respond timely inquiries, and present written/ oral briefings
- Ability to work with details and time-sensitive issues
- Good decision-making skills and response to high-pressure situations
- Proficiency with computer systems and appetite for learning new digital technologies
- Passionate about sustainability to make positive impact
Desirables
- Knowledge of relevant OH&S, IR, ER and RTW legislation
- Formal qualifications in business or supply chain operations
- Experience in working with disability enterprises
