With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hour's drive from the CBD, Melbourne's North is fast becoming the place to be!The Role:An opportunity exists for a Grade 2Respiratory Scientist to join the growing team at Northern Health.This role includes performing and the supervising junior scientists conducting respiratory and physiological testing, involvement in the laboratory's quality assurance, training programs and laboratory co-ordination. The role also involves working as part of Northern Health's Respiratory Protection Program (RPP).The Grade 2Respiratory Scientist will provide testing according to their training and expertise and will report to the Respiratory Function Laboratory's Head Scientist. Appropriate training and credentialing will be undertaken to ensure the Respiratory Scientist can consistently deliver the highest quality testing possible in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures.To be successful in this role you will have:
- Knowledge and experience across the multitude of respiratory physiological measurements. Preferred candidates will have experience in advanced physiological testing
- Ability to supervise and perform high quaility testing according to Northern Health's Respiratory Function Laboratory Policies and Procedures
- Knowledge of scientific equipment and quality assurance programs
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and prioritise work to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of rostering, supervising of laboratory activities and supporting junior scientists
- Exposure to documentation and polices in accordance with TSANZ accreditation program
- Show initative and commitment for personal and professional development
- Willingness to participate in departmental educational activites, quailty improvement and research projects
- Ability to work as a participative team member with a multidisciplinary team enviroment
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Knowledge of Respiratory fit testing and Respiratory Protection Programs
