We have fantastic opportunities for dedicated Respite Assistants to join our collaborative Community Respite Teams at our Myrtle Cottage in Myrtle Bank, Willow Fern Cottage in Mount Barker & The Pines Cottage in North Plympton.

About the role

Reporting to the site leader, you will be responsible for implementing our health focused service delivery model to older adults with physical and/or cognitive care needs.

Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to;

  • providing personal care as documented on the care plans
  • ensuring our respite clients remain engaged; physically, cognitively, socially
  • providing support to participate in day-to-day tasks (including meal preparation) as well as providing opportunities to attend offsite community outings 
  • Keeping concise and accurate records of care delivered and the individual’s responses 
  • Assisting with the preparation of meals as well as ensuring all clients have input into the selection of meals they receive

About you

We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Certificate III in Aged Care & Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Relevant dementia qualifications and/or experience
  • A basic knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Standards as are applicable to the role
  • Ability to build positive relationships with clients and their representatives
  • Good organisation, time management and problem solving skills
  •  Exceptional resilience and initiative 
  • Proficient computer and keyboard skills and the ability to use Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail and in-house databases)
  • Current Driver's Licence and reliable mode of transport 
  • Applicants with a Certificate IV in Aged Care; Certificate III or IV Leisure & Lifestyle will be highly regarded
