Job Description:
As the Restaurant General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional service, culinary excellence, and a memorable dining experience for our guests. You will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our reputation as a premier destination in the Melbourne wine region.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of talented individuals, including chefs, servers, bartenders, and support staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Guest Experience: Ensure that every guest receives exceptional service and a memorable dining experience, going above and beyond to exceed their expectations.
- Menu Development: Collaborate with our culinary team to create innovative and seasonal menus that showcase the best of local produce and complement our wines.
- Wine Pairing: Work closely with our sommelier to curate a wine list that complements our menu offerings and provides guests with a diverse and exceptional selection.
- Financial Management: Monitor and control costs, including food and beverage expenses, labor costs, and other operational expenses, to ensure profitability and financial success.
- Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with our marketing team to develop and implement strategies to promote the restaurant, attract new customers, and drive repeat business.
- Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the restaurant staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional service.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Restaurant General Manager or similar role, preferably in a high-end restaurant or hospitality establishment.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with guests, staff, and suppliers.
- A passion for food, wine, and hospitality, with a deep understanding of culinary trends and wine pairing.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to manage financial aspects of the restaurant and drive profitability.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
