Pelicans Landing is a modern restaurant, bar, reception and business function centre designed to complement the classic maritime architecture of last century. The weatherboard three story building, with its numerous balconies encompasses spectacular day and night views of the city skyline that continually changes with the seasons.
We are looking for a front of house superstar to join our team as a Restaurant Manager. This is a challenging role where you will be required to be hands-on, calm under pressure and always leading from the front. Pelicans Landing is cherished by our locals and your responsibility will be to ensure all our valued patrons have a fantastic experience every time.
The ideal candidate will be expected to perform the following duties that include but are not limited to:
- Plan menus and food service.
- Organise special functions and events.
- Keep track of stock; plan and manage the budget.
- Ensure dining areas comply with health regulations.
- Hire, train and supervise wait and kitchen staff; manage staff rosters.
- Ensure health, safety and liquor licensing regulations are followed.
- Take bookings and assist with customer service.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Liaises with Chef and other employees around their requirements.
- Ensure that the restaurant opening, closing and service procedures are consistent and managed accordingly.
- Make sure stakeholder (i.e. customers, suppliers and staff) feedback is responded to immediately and constructively.
- All fire or evacuation drills are managed and executed including the complete familiarisation with all exits normally used by customers, as well as fire escapes.
- Profit opportunities are identified, quantified and responded to.
- Tips are managed in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Wastage and Shrinkage/Breakage is at a consistently low level and documented accordingly.
- Complies with all the established property operational policies and procedures.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and hygienic working environment while displaying full knowledge of working OH&S guidelines.
- Is aware of and follows injury reporting procedures in accordance with the relevant legislation.
- Aware and adhere to all procedures, including security, fire and the Workplace Health and Safety Act.
- Represents Pelicans Landing in a positive manner expounding the values, ethics, and pride always.
Qualifications:
- A Diploma or higher in Hospitality Management or Management (or equivalent).
