Restaurant & Resort Duty Manager
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurant & Resort Duty Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, strong leadership skills and the ability to thrive in a remote island setting.
As Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for aspects of the Restaurant & bar facilities, while as Resort Duty Manager on weekends you will be overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Resort.
Responsibilities as Restaurant Manager:
- Manage all food and beverage operations, in conjunction with Resort Head Chef. This includes the main Restaurant & bar along with private functions & groups.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the guest dining experience while promoting sustainability and eco-friendly practices.
- Recruit, train, and oversee a team of restaurant staff, ensuring high standards of service and professionalism.
- Monitor inventory levels of the bar, working within budgetary constraints, for optimum financial performance.
- Implement initiatives to minimise waste and promote recycling efforts.
- Work a 5-day on (Thursday to Monday), 2-day off roster, with some flexibility to adjust hours as needed.
Responsibilities as Resort Duty Manager:
- The Resort Duty Manager role on the weekend is to support & act on behalf of the Island General Managers across all resort operational functions.
- Be the main point of contact for managers, staff and guests while on Resort Duty Manager shift and implement operational solutions as they arise.
- Ability to stay calm and be switched on during an emergency situation and have experience in administering first aid when needed.
- Oversee the day to day operations of the resort.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a remote or island resort setting.
- Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of managing teams and achieving operational objectives.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and problem-solve effectively.
- Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as required, including public holidays and special events.
- Must have RSA, drivers’ licence and first aid/CPR.
- Food Safety Supervisor, RMLV and qualifications within the hospitality sphere a distinct advantage.
