Named after his rescue cat, Joni, Dr Will Ryan founded Joni & Co as part of the Johnston Street Veterinary Clinic. Substantial growth in the demand for grooming led to expansion to a purpose-built, stand-alone salon. The space also offers clients a pet food & retail space, regular puppy school, adolescent classes, and one-on-one dog training services. 

Our veterinary, Grooming Salon and retail teams work closely to provide an exceptional and unique service to our clients. The clinical team are on hand for any issues that may arise in the salon and the teams take pride in assisting our clients to work with pets that may be a little nervous about their grooms. 

We have a strong focus on animal health & wellbeing, collaborative teamwork, client service, team culture and mental health & wellbeing. As part of the front of house team, you’ll help take care of admissions & discharges, phone calls and administrative tasks for the Grooming Salon, as well as serve our retail customers. 

The Role: 

• Casual, 15 – 22.5 hours per week
• Weekend availability essential
• Pet retail sales assistance
• Reception for the Dog Grooming Salon and puppy school
• Occasionally helping with bathing & drying dogs

We’d like to meet you if you: 

• Have a proven experience in a retail, hospitality, or customer service-related role
• Are passionate about pets, pet products and furry friends in general!
• Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Have a can-do attitude and ability to work well in a team orientated environment
• Have an eye for detail and an immaculate personal presentation
• Enjoy a fast pace, growing business and the ability to adapt to change
• Engage naturally, creating lasting customer relationships 

Bonus points if you have:

• 2+ years of professional animal handling experience
• Animal-related qualifications
