The company’s head office is located in Quoiba near Devonport, on the North West Coast of Tasmania, with our other Tasmanian branch office in Launceston. We are also located in Regional Victoria, with offices located in Newport, Melbourne and Corio, Geelong, as well including seven other depots located across the state.
About the Role
We are seeking both full time and part time Shift Supervisors at our Epping Forest roadhouse located in northern Tasmania. The primary responsibilities of the Shift Supervisor include the following:
- “On-floor” co-ordination/leadership/guidance of the console operators, cooks and Storeperson.
- Training of all staff utilising the Induction & Food Safety Programs and additional online training programs where available. The primary training is “on the job” and the explanation and demonstration of tasks then monitoring and providing feedback and assessing the trainee’s competency to complete the task correctly and safely to the required standard.
- Support the Site Supervisor in preparing shift rosters, cover for leave and training shifts (on or offsite).
- Food Safety Program Oversight with focus on temperature checks and temperature probe calibration logs, ensure completion to the required standard. Ensure labelling and dates are correct on food containers. Report all equipment failure or non-compliance by staff against the program requirements to ensure corrective action is taken.
- Assist to ensure stock levels are maintained and ordering of stock is completed when required.
- Assist with ensuring all daily, weekly, monthly and annual checks are completed to timescales.
- Provide backup to the Site Supervisor to ensure Incidents are reported via the incident reporting system with reference to the Incident and Hazard Management system.
- Assist with preparation of banking for pick up or to be completed at the bank (site specific), and any change orders and deliveries to site. The float is to be checked on return to ensure it is correct.
- Assist the Site Supervisor in completing weekly and end of month stocktakes to be completed on the Android Device (HHT/PDA), variance reports to be generated and investigated and reported to Corporate Services Retail Accountant.
- Exercise sales skills appropriate to over-the-counter purchases including the sale of Tobacco and safe dispensing of fuel and hazardous products.
- Perform food preparation and cooking of plated meals and items for the Bain Maree
- Use all kitchen equipment safely to the guidelines, using all safety PPE and equipment safeguards as required.
- Moving stock to and from food storage fridges/freezers when required
- Ability to safely perform manual handling work with 20 litre oil drums and waste removal.
- Act responsibly and honestly in promoting company Zoom Food image with customers and general public.
- Ensure site facilities are kept clean at all times including toilets, floors, windows, cooking areas, petrol pumps and surrounding driveway area.

- Able to work under minimal supervision and work as part of a team
- Ability to lift, stack and store items within occupational health and safety limits
- Ensure personal protective equipment is worn and maintained in a neat and tidy condition
- Report known hazards or environmental incidents as a high priority
- Excellent customer service skills
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage workplace conflict
- Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge, operate CCTV system and App based software tools for the workplace.
