Exploration/Rig Geologist & Field Technicians

We have an exciting opportunity to join one of our clients who currently have operations in QLD. This is a DIDO/FIFO role on an even time Roster (2 weeks on 2 weeks off) at a Tier 1 Coal Mine in the Bowen Basin

Our Client

Opportunity exists for Rig Geologists and Field Technicians to come in and embed themselves within the site-based team effective immediately for minimum 24 months with likelihood of extensions or deployment with other Projects that TMS is involved with in various mines around Australia.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Senior Geologist, you will be required to complete the following:

• Geological logging and sampling 
• Sample QAQC, geological and textural logging of RC samples.
• Supervision and co-ordination and management of RC drill rig/s.
• Validation of RC logging
• Log and sample Quality holes
• Log and sample Geotechnical holes
• Geophysical Logging Interpretation
• Data Validations and Correlations
• Monitor core recovery
• Daily safety inspections of drill rigs and drill pads

Desirable Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:

To be successful in this role, you will be required to have the following:

• 1-3 years’ experience in diamond core logging/drilling - preferably in coal
• Have an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
• Ability to work in a exploration environment in within a small team whilst being capable of working autonomously
• Tertiary qualifications in Geology
• 1-3 years’ experience in diamond core logging/drilling - preferably in coal
• Geological Database software expertise
• High level interpersonal skills
• Drivers Licence
