Work Location: Christmas Creek Operations
Roster: 8D/6R FIFO ex. Perth
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring safety compliance in the field
- Daily supervision of Reverse Circulation drill rigs
- Day-to-day management of drilling campaigns
- High quality logging of RC chips
- Ensuring sample quality on the rigs
- Drawing on experience to help drive innovation within the team
- Promote and foster a positive safety culture within the Resource Definition team through visible field leadership and adherence to FMG policies and procedures.
- Comply with Fortescue site specific HSES and OH&S policies, work instructions, procedures and reporting protocols. Review and update these documents on a regular basis.
Qualifications and Experience
- Absolute commitment to safety and FMG Values
- Tertiary degree in Geoscience
- Exposure to Arc GIS preferred
- Experienced in the use of geological database systems
- Knowledge of Marra Mamba geology and different mineralisation styles
- Understanding of iron ore minerology / textures
- Fundamental knowledge of logging requirements (Logging, QAQC, use of Downhole Geophysics)
- Highly proficient in MS Office suite
- Can work both autonomously with minimal supervision and as part of a large team
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
- High degree of organisational skills
- Full C class, manual drivers licence
- Experience managing drill rigs
- Operate and maintain a 4WD.
- Current First Aid Certificate
