Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth - Full-time - Hybrid - Manager

Our Independence Team helps the firm, its partners and staff, manage a range of regulatory and professional requirements to ensure the firm’s independence from audit and assurance clients. We advise a broad range of internal stakeholders on the Independence requirements surrounding PwC’s relationships and interactions with third parties,blending technical skills and strategy to advise our internal functions and teams with spectacular results. And we’re looking for a leader to take our team to the next level, as we manage Global compliance systems and processes to clear and monitor these business relationship arrangements within our vast community of solvers.

As a leader in the Independence Team, you’ll make a real impact in a workplace that’s human-led and tech-enabled.

As an expert in Audit, Legal, Tax or Compliance, you’ll lead a team solving problems by analysing potential breaches and preparing breach reporting. In our Independence Team, you’ll also:

  • Provide advice to teams across the firm (escalating to more senior team members as appropriate) on the application of the Business Relationship Independence regulations to a broad range of scenarios involving third party collaboration and interactions, including but not limited to:

    • Joint delivery of client services;

    • Collaboration agreements and strategic alliances;

    • Co-hosting events;

    • Firm Sponsorships;

    • Use of third party technology and other third party goods and services.

  • Manage and oversee the Business Relationship clearance process, including:

    • Delegation of clearance applications and simple queries to junior team members;

    • Manage Globally mandated 6 monthly reviews of ongoing business relationships;

    • Run and analyse system reports as part of the firm’s monitoring controls;

    • Provide support to business teams in relation to their use of the joint business relationship system e.g. troubleshooting system issues.

  • Review the advice prepared by more junior team members;

  • Provide support and coaching to more junior team members;

  • Develop training materials and process documents as appropriate. This may also include delivery of training;

  • Analyse potential breaches and prepare breach reporting.

  • Manage service delivery to ensure that queries are answered promptly.

  • Assist with other areas of the Independence team as required.

More About You

  • You have solid experience working in a professional role with an Audit, Legal, Tax or Compliance background preferred. Your analytical and communication skills, focus on client service and ability to work with teams in a matrix organisation will be crucial in this role.

  • No previous Independence experience is necessary. We will provide thorough training in both a formal and informal capacity. We are a dynamic and collaborative team who will support your learning and experience as you develop in your role.

  • You are commercially aware and have the willingness to work with the business to provide practical and timely advice. Your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to manage your stakeholders effectively. Your capacity to learn, drive to succeed and dedication to quality will be key parts of the role.
