Chandler Macleod is currently recruiting for a Risk Specialist - Unlisted Assets, Investment Risk to join a Federal Government Agency on a contract of 6 months with possibility of extension and located in the Sydney CBD with hybrid working arrangements on offer.
Role summary
Prepare specialist advice and risk insights at regulated entity, industry and financial system levels, with a focus on unlisted asset valuation and governance.
Organisational environment
The team collaborates closely with the Agencies supervision, Data Analytics, Strategic Insights and Policy and Advice teams. Due to a number of Divisional Priorities workstreams over the course of 2024, we require the services of a specialist with strong practical knowledge of unlisted asset investment practices.
Key accountabilities and outcomes
- Reviewing the investment policies and practices of regulated (mainly superannuation) entities;
- Identifying and assessing investment and liquidity risks;
- Supporting and advising supervision teams and Investment Risk colleagues;
- Identifying current and emerging risks affecting industry and contributing to thematic reviews of these risks; and
- Providing ad hoc advice on investment and liquidity issues to a range of stakeholders across APRA.
Experience in unlisted asset research, selection, valuation, audit and implementation. More generally, experience in Investment Risk, ideally in investment management, asset consulting or related specialist fields, and will be tertiary qualified. The ability to work with stakeholders at all levels is crucial to success in the role. High-order analytical, communication, influencing and interpersonal skills are essential, along with excellent organisational, self and priority management skills.
