Road Workers

As a Road Worker with the local council in Hadfield, you'll be an essential part of a team dedicated to maintaining and improving the safety and efficiency of our road reserves.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine road maintenance tasks.
• Repair and install road signs, street furniture, fences, guardrails, and more.
• Operate trucks up to 22400 GVM, including towing trailers and compressors.
• Use ride-on rollers for compacting road-making materials.
• Conduct daily vehicle and equipment checks to ensure safe operation; report any faults.
• Support the team in all tasks, including labouring, erection, and maintenance of roadwork signs, and operation of small plant equipment.

About You:

• Hold a current Victorian Driver's Licence with a Heavy Rigid Truck Licence endorsement.
• Competent in operating asphalt and concrete cutting machines, as well as smooth drum and other rollers.
• Skilled in driving and operating vehicles up to 22400GVM safely and competently.
• Effective communication skills, able to deal sensitively and confidentially with customers.
• Experience in road maintenance, construction techniques, and the use of road-making materials.
• Proficient with hand tools and small mechanical equipment associated with road maintenance and construction.
• Current White/Red card.
