Position Overview:
We are seeking dedicated workers for our soon to open Robust SDA with a specialization in complex mental health to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for supporting individuals with mental health conditions and will play a crucial role in providing personalized care and assistance to our participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide person-cantered support to individuals with disabilities and mental health diagnosis living in Robust SDA settings.
- Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, medication management, and household tasks.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes independence, choice, and dignity.
- Implement individualized support plans in collaboration with clients, their families, and other support professionals.
- Monitor and report on clients' progress, needs, and any concerns to the relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience supporting individuals with trauma including childhood trauma, Complex PTSD or other adverse life events. Proficiency in trauma informed care principles and interventions.
- Security guard or justice experience is advantageous.
- Experience supporting individuals exhibiting complex behaviours associated with mental health conditions such as aggression, self-harm or disordered thinking.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and evenings, as required.
- A current First Aid certificate and a valid driver's license are advantageous.
