About the business and the role
Care Forward is an innovative, leading provider of Home Care & Support services across Tasmania, we are growing our direct care worker team (Home Independence Assistants) and need to ensure that we have a strong rostering/scheduling team to facilitate rostering on a statewide basis.
The service you deliver will compliment and strengthen our Home Independence team who specialise in wellness, reablement and restorative care. We have 20 plus years of experience in delivering better health outcomes for our clients. Our support staff numbers are growing and to facilitate ongoing expansion we are needing to recruit rostering staff.

Job tasks and responsibilities
- Allocates work schedule to support staff
- Daily roster management by amending to accommodate changes. e.g. replacement of staff management of planned and unplanned leave etc.
- Ensures fortnightly roster projections, distribution and publishing
- Planned and unplanned leave processing and the associated general administration
- Schedules training and team meeting times into rosters
- Enters new employees into the rostering/scheduling system
- Provide information to staff re aspects/considerations for rostering
- Any other reasonable administrative tasks within the scope of the position
Qualifications
Minimum Requirement
Relevant qualification or experience in the Community Sector service area
Highly Desired
A relevant qualification at Certificate IV or Diploma Level (e.g. Business, Community Services etc.)
Experience
Minimum Requirement
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook)
Significant experience in a rostering or administrative role
Highly Desired
Proficient in the use of the full Microsoft Office suite including Excel
High level experience in rostering of staff in a responsive, changing environment
Knowledge
Minimum Requirement
Knowledge of rostering practices and principles
An understanding of risk management principles, workplace health and safety and continuous quality improvement processes and their application in the workplace.
Highly Desired
High level knowledge of rostering systems and associated processes
Knowledge of the Community Services sector
Skills
High level key board skills
Data entry skills together with an understanding of database administration
The ability to deliver efficient, effective and timely rostering outcomes
The ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Excellent relationship, team building and communication skills
High level verbal, written and interpersonal communication and relational skills

Mandatory Requirements
- COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate showing 3 vaccinations
- Two (2) professional referee checks, preferably from most recent employment or education institution.
- National Police Certificate obtained within the last three (3) months and provided to be assessed as clear of any prohibitive offences, and on commencement of employment a current National Police Certificate to be provided or obtained that is within six months from date of issue. Thereafter during ongoing employment an updated National Police Certificate is to be provided prior to each three-year period from employment commencement date (See Police Checks Policy) and assessed as clear of any prohibitive offences.
- Statutory Declaration regarding any permanent residency oversees and no involvement in any prohibitive offences.
- In the case of persons who are not Australian Citizens, consent to provide visa details to the Company for the purpose of the Company conducting a Visa Entitlement Check.
