The Role

We are looking for an experienced Rostering Scheduler to join our team at our Mount Lawley head office. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday during standard office hours. Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, this role will be responsible for coordinating the rosters of support workers who provide care and support to people with disabilities in a variety of settings. The successful person will need to have a demonstrated understanding of the Disability and NDIS framework and rostering requirements. In this role, the successful person will have the opportunity to grow and develop their skills whilst working towards the common goal of supporting people with their everyday life activities.聽

This is not an entry level position -聽you must have previous experience as a Rostering Scheduler or Disability Service Coordinator聽and an understanding of the philosophies regarding support for people with disabilities.

Duties

  • Allocate shifts and match support workers to meet individual support needs and requirements
  • Develop teams of care for individuals
  • Prepare and distribute all employee rosters within required time frames
  • Identify scheduling issues and manage proactively, finding solutions within the team
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders including Support Workers, Service Coordinators, Individuals and Management
  • Advise Individuals, Support Workers and other staff of any changes to rosters within an appropriate timeframe
  • Roster staff in a fair and equal manner
  • Ensure rosters meet minimum requirements including but not limited to contracted hours and breaks
  • Maintain an understanding of and familiarity with the Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Services Award
  • Update and maintain records and other information as required
  • Available after hours by telephone as required and prepared to be available to take calls over weekends on a rotational basis

Requirements of the role

  • Previous experience in a similar role and knowledge of rostering systems
  • Understanding of the disability framework
  • Knowledge of issues, legislation, policies, SCHADS Award and services in relation to access and equity for culturally and linguistically diverse communities
  • Certificates in the disability and/or community service sector or related field would be highly regarded
  • Ability to empathise and interact with diverse stakeholder groups
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail聽
  • Highly organised and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
