Address About the Role
A Retrieval Consultant will represent LifeFlight Retrieval Medicine as a Pre-hospital and Retrieval Medicine (PHRM) Specialist, on our Rotary Wing assets, providing a highly skilled and professional standard of care for all patients undergoing Aeromedical retrieval across Queensland.
We are looking for Retrieval Consultants to join the LifeFlight Retrieval Medicine (LRM) team across our Queensland locations including Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba/Roma, and Brisbane. We have multiple positions, at each base.
We are offering, a three (3) year fixed -term contract on a part-time basis, ranging from 0.125 FTE (1 shift per fortnight) to 0.50 FTE (4 shifts per fortnight). Flexibility to work a 24/7 rotating roster is essential.
About You
You are passionate about patient care with excellent clinical skills. You also have the following skills and attributes:
Ability to facilitate rapid assessment, critical care interventions, and transport of patients in the PHRM environment
Consultant level experience in Emergency Medicine, ICU, Anaesthetics, or Rural and Remote Medicine.
Past experience in aeromedical retrieval or pre-hospital care.
Experience working in a dynamic environment using your skills and clinical experience to deliver exceptional patient care
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Leadership qualities and education/mentoring skills
Hold registration with AHPRA
Hold or obtain credentialing through the relevant Queensland Health Credentialing with a Scope of Practice in Pre- Hospital and Retrieval Medicine (PHRM)
Eligibility and successful application for an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
Ability to comfortably swim 10 meters unassisted and fully clothed in a pool (depth of 2 meters) for aviation Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET)
Ability to join our team in July 2024, which will including a dedicated training program.
