Responsibilities:
1. Provide individual counselling sessions for clients experiencing emotional or psychological difficulties.
2. Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs, including gathering relevant information through interviews or standardized assessment tools.
3. Develop personalized treatment plans based on clients' goals, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
4. Implement interventions that address clients' concerns effectively while considering their unique circumstances.
5. Monitor progress regularly through ongoing evaluation and adjust treatment plans as needed.
6.Support families by providing counselling services aimed at improving communication, resolving conflicts, or addressing specific issues affecting family dynamics.
7.Participate in case conferences or team meetings to collaborate with other professionals involved in client care for holistic support.
8.Document all interactions accurately and maintain client records following organizational policies.
Qualifications:
1.Master's degree in Social Work (SW), Psychology, Counseling Psychology or related field required.
2.Valid registration/license as a counselor/psychologist from an accredited professional body/board is essential (e.g., Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
3.Demonstrated experience providing counseling services within a social care setting is preferred but not mandatory.
4.Knowledge of relevant legislation, ethical guidelines, and best practices in the field of counseling.
5.Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
