The position will be responsible for project managing all of the components associated with the implementation of the Safe Staffing Levels (SSL) for Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD). Clinician engagement and leadership has been a prominent feature of the public health system for several years, where clinician led clinical standards, safety and quality improvements have become a major focus. The LHD is committed to the strengthening and ongoing involvement and clinician engagement of staff that provide direct patient care in the planning, delivery, improvement and evaluation of health services.
If you have:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with a post graduate qualification in leadership/management
- Demonstrated high level experience with self directed work, the ability to plan and deliver projects through collaboration and consultation using change management methodology that meets project timelines
- Highly developed leadership and communication skills, including proven interpersonal, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills and demonstrated skills in writing high quality reports and documents inclusive of project plans and briefs
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the current NSW Nursing and Midwifery Award, particularly in regard to the Safe Staffing Arrangements and demonstrated experience and understanding of nursing/midwifery staffing systems and approaches
- Understanding of, and commitment to the effective and meaningful engagement of clinicians in the decision making process that impact on positive patient outcomes
- Valid unrestricted drivers' licence for use in NSW/Australia and the willingness to travel in the course of employment
