ABC Heavy Engineering is a locally owned and operated engineering company, heavily focused on Health, Safety, The Environment and Quality. We specialise in the manufacture, repair and maintenance of heavy equipment in the Mining, Civil ports and Agricultural sectors, both in the workshop located in Mackay and on-site across multiple Bowen Basin Mine Sites.
We are currently looking for a Safety Advisor to join our team at Anglo CapCoal!
About the role:
You will be responsible for the continuous development, implementation, monitoring and review of health, safety, environment, quality systems, training and functions for the Load and Haul operations. You will guide the business in achieving its goals without compromising safety or health and encourage at all times a positive and pro-active approach to safety throughout the operations.
Requirements for the role:
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
- Cert 4 WHS
- Experience with the application of OH&S principles and statutory / regulatory requirements in mineral processing or industrial facilities would be advantageous
- Provide advice, interpretation and guidance to Management and on statutory requirements and best practice developments within the OH&S and Environmental field.
- Ensuring appropriate reporting & documentation is conducted.
- Providing education/training of the WHSE Management system to all employees, supervisors and managers including induction/training required to perform their duties and this training and competency is reviewed regularly
- CBM & S11 desirable
