About our Directorate:

Safety, Quality & Innovation lead the development, implementation and ongoing review of Child and Adolescent Health Service’s (CAHS) external certification and accreditation processes and play a key role in the planning and execution of organisational strategy relating to safety, quality, and clinical governance,

Position Profile and Role:

As a Safety & Quality Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting effective clinical governance, advancing healthcare standards and driving excellence in patient care across our service.

Reporting to the Director Safety, Quality & Performance you will be responsible for a portfolio of hospital/service-based teams and coordinate CAHS-wide clinical governance programs, safety, quality improvement, accreditation, clinical incident management, and various improvement initiatives. This includes the collation, analysis, interpretation and reporting of clinical Safety and Quality data at an Area Health Service level.

Leveraging the knowledge of the broader teams, you will ensure compliance with health service governance frameworks and accreditation requirements and contribute to the overall Safety and Quality of our health service. You will work closely with key stakeholders and clinical departments to build their awareness of the value of effective governance our continuous effort to minimise risk, improve Safety and elevate quality of care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collating, analysing, interpreting, and reporting of clinical Safety and Quality data for leadership, CAHS Executive Committees and Board Committees and other executive committees and forums as required.
  • Working closely with the CAHS Business Intelligence Unit to develop and implement clinical Safety and Quality data reporting formats and dashboards tailored to specific area, site, and department requirements.
  • Managing the design, conduct, analysis, and reporting of Area-wide level audits addressing clinical Safety and Quality risks and issues, including clinical audit activities, such as clinician and patient reported outcome measures.
  • Coordinating Area-wide improvement activities, facilitating change to processes and practices related to safety, quality, and clinical governance initiatives.
  • Undertaking literature reviews, research projects, and analysis/interpretation of information using relevant databases and statistical packages.
  • Collaborating with sites and other health service providers to develop appropriate resources and materials for Safety and Quality initiatives.

This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time and Fixed Term Part Time appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
