About the role
Laing O’Rourke is currently recruiting a Quality Coordinator for our Rail Operations Business Unit.

Key responsibilities
- Assist with the implementation of the Quality Plan and the development of quality related deliverables.
- Provide advice/support to the Project Quality Manager on quality-related matters.
- Assist Engineering team with preparing / reviewing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), inspection checklists and work packs to ensure quality requirements are captured.
- Assist the Project Quality Manager with developing and implementing quality programmes to raise awareness of Quality requirements and address quality risk and issues.
- Coordinate closure and ensure completeness of all Quality records.
- Ensure quality issues are registered in the Corrective Actions Register or Non-conformance Report and register as required.
- Investigate all non-conformances with efficiency and ensure debriefs are conducted and corrective actions are closed out.
- Actively monitor the project Corrective Actions and Non-conformance Registers to ensure timely close out and measure the effectiveness to prevent re-occurrence.
- Maintain up-to-date register of calibration certificates and ensure inspection, measuring and test equipment is within calibration or removed from use.
- Observe safe systems of work relevant to your work area and report potential hazards or near misses.
About you
- A minimum of five years’ construction / engineering project experience
- Sound knowledge of Australian Standards (e.g. ISO 9001:2015), Industry Codes and Procedures
- Knowledge to interpret drawings, specifications and quality records
- Strong Negotiation and Influencing skills
- Previous experience with Project Document Management Systems
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certificate of Attainment in Quality Management or equivalent
- Internal Auditor Qualification & Lead Auditor Qualification
