You will be driving behavioural change through meaningful interactions with leaders and the development of people-centric training, coaching, and guidance throughout all workplace operations.
This will be a full-time permanent position on a lifestyle roster of 5/4 and 4/5 that requires the individual to live in the Gladstone Region. Relocation packages are offered for the right applicant.
Accountabilities:
- Design and deliver Safety Coaching programs to GPC leaders, including frontline leaders, to assist them in promoting safe behaviour for all employees
- Conduct assessments and collaborate with leaders to establish Safety Coaching plans as required and support leaders to achieve Safety Coaching outcomes
- In consultation with Safety Specialists, provide safety leadership coaching support to GPC leaders for: risk assessments, investigations, safety interactions, toolbox talks, application of the Safety Management System (SMS), and application of fatal risk system
- Support leaders and Safety Specialists to operationalise and implement GPC’s safety systems
- Support the Safety Projects team to design implementation and embedding strategies, processes and materials for new initiatives, including application of change management methodologies
- Contribute to safety program evaluation processes to ensure effectiveness and support continuous development
- Conduct field assurance activities to identify areas of need for coaching
- Fostering a proactive, collaborative on-site team culture to maintain a high level of team morale promoting open, honest, and respectful team communication
- Relevant qualifications and experience in Leadership, Safety Coaching, Human Factors, or equivalent fields
- Previous experience within a heavy industrial, construction, mining or oil & gas setting is a MUST
- Demonstrated experience in developing coaching programs to enhance safety culture and foster safe workplace behaviours is seen as highly desirable
- Proven ability to lead safety or business initiatives using change management to ensure continuous business and workplace cultural improvements
- Background and extensive experience in guiding leaders and the workforce in the continuous support, coaching, and progression to develop stronger workplace behaviours
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work within a team and independently
- Strong influence skills to help build trust with leaders and to develop knowledge and understanding to achieve safer outcomes
- A people-centric personality, showing care and passion for the improvement of those around them
- Play a crucial hands-on role to influence and shift company-wide safety culture and behaviours to improve GPC’s Safety Maturity Profile
