The Role & Project
The M80 Ring Road Alliance (comprising of MACA, Acciona and AECOM) has been selected to design and construct the M80 Ring Road Completion Project. We are seeking to appoint a Safety Coordinator to join our team based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne (Greensborough/Watsonia). The Safety Coordinator will implement Health & Safety systems within the project and support a culture of Health & Safety vigilance, accountability, ownership and awareness across the workplace.
This package of works covers the design and construction of the North East Link between the M80 - Plenty Rd interchange, and the north tunnel entrance at Watsonia. Works include three kilometres of new freeway, two kilometres of freeway upgrades, construction of retaining walls and bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, and urban design and landscaping. This diverse and challenging project will be complete in 2028.

Responsibilities will include:
- Develop and maintain Health and Safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry best practice
- Identifying workplace hazards and assess risks
- Investigate accidents and safety incidents
- Recommend corrective actions for prevention
- Maintain records, reports and safety documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support a culture of Health & Safety awareness and accountability across the project
- A tertiary qualification/certificate in Occupational Health & Safety and Provide First Aid (Level 2)
- Demonstrated experience in safety and compliance in the civil construction industry
- Experience in implementing Safety training programs and proven knowledge of a risk and incident system
- Ability to cope with competing demands and a fast-paced environment. A proactive and flexible approach and able to be relied upon
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability and self-confidence to liaise effectively with all levels of management and internal staff
