Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-operative – Corporate Services now have the following position vacant.
Workplace Health & Safety CoordinatorFull time - 38 Hours per week
This role plays a vital part in fostering a culture of safety and wellbeing within Rumbalara, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting continuous improvement in safety practices.
- Provide comprehensive knowledge and guidance to the Rumbalara team and associates to guide workers across our safety systems and continue on best practice methods to support the Organisation.
- Support the Safety Manager in developing safety strategies, initiatives, and programs within the organisational framework to enhance performance and encourage and foster a proactive safety culture in all aspects.
- Collaborate closely with team members and management to define role accountabilities and enhance understanding of safety, health, and environmental obligations effectively.
- Provide advice and recommendations that will deliver guidance on all Work Health and Safety (WHS) matters.
- Coordinate WHS activities and ensure compliance across all sites, operations, and functions of Rumbalara.
- Promote wellbeing and positive health outcomes to nurture our distinctive culture and prevent injuries in all organisational operations and events.
What do you need to apply?
- Understanding and commitment to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture.
- Formal qualifications (or four years progressive work experience) in one or more of the following fields: OH&S, workplace injury management, Emergency Planning.
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge, understanding and experience in OHS and/or Workers Compensation including relevant Acts, Regulations and codes of practice.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of the implementation of OHS Management systems in a large, multi-site organisation and the ability to contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of such systems.
- Completed or willing to undertake the WorkSafe Endorsed Return to Work Coordinators Course and have demonstrated experience in injury management and return to work planning.
