With nearly 60 years in the industry, Namoi Cotton is the leading cotton ginning, marketing and logistics business, servicing Cotton Growers and the industry throughout New South Wales and Southern Queensland. Namoi Cotton focusses on safety, outstanding customer service, operational excellence and people.

The company is now seeking the services of a suitably qualified SHE Business Partner to join the established People and Culture Team.

Reporting to the GM - Safety, Health and Environment, the SHE Business Partner is responsible for partnering with business operations to support and drive Namoi’s safety initiatives whilst coaching employee in our safety management system.  

This position will be ideally based within the Namoi Cotton operating areas, including, but not limited to Boggabri, Narrabri, Wee Waa, Moree, or Goondiwindi.

The primary objectives of this position are:

  • In conjunction with the GM - Safety, Health and Environment, Operational Managers and other SHE Advisors, develop and facilitate the implementation of SHE strategies and a program for the effective management of SHE across Namoi Cotton Group.
  • Carriage of the workers compensation and injury management strategy (in line with Namoi Cotton rehabilitation and return to work policy).
As a specialist in your field, the role extends across safety, health & environment and rehabilitation management to all leaders, employees, and applicable contractors. The goal of Safety, Health & Environment is to promote a strong safety leadership culture, where the highest practicable standard of work health and safety is achieved through driving proactive risk, hazard assessments to ensure compliance with legislation and national standards for work health and safety.

The Person:

  • An acceptable tertiary qualification in health and safety (or an equivalent discipline / minimum Cert IV WHS) (mandatory)
  • Ability to travel within the Namoi Cotton network
  • Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator qualification or willingness to obtain
  • Lead or internal auditor qualification (desirable)
  • Drug and alcohol tester accreditation or willingness to obtain
  • Strong organisational and communication skills are mandatory
  • Ability to coach and influence stakeholders to deliver change
  • Team orientated and results focused
  • Excellent numerical and recording skills
  • Workers’ compensation and injury management skills
Remuneration package will be negotiated based on your knowledge, skills, and experience.
