Position – Safety Lead
Role description:
The Safety Lead is a senior role within the portfolio. The role involves working collaboratively with the National Safety Manager and business team to develop and implement safety improvement plans aligned with the business' Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) and Risk Management Systems. The Safety Lead provides specialist technical advice and support to operations and shared services teams, fostering a culture characterized by care, respect, and accountability for safety performance.
Key elements:
Location: Perth Based M-F - 3 days average travel to site, 1-2 days office/WFH

Position – Safety Lead

The Safety Lead is a senior role within the portfolio. Key elements:
- Coach leaders in safety behaviours and programs to drive safe operations improvement owned by operational leaders.
- Sites across WA
- 12-14 Direct reports
- Coach relevant business teams, particularly line management, to consistently demonstrate the required behaviours outlined in behavioural-based safety framework 'Our Safety Culture' for excellence in health and safety performance.
- Collaborate with operations lead teams to establish, maintain, and execute plans and programs, involving all employees in safety management through appropriate consultative mechanisms.
- Coach and model standards across workplaces to eliminate food contamination risks and ensure food integrity and safety for customers.
- Drive compliance with food safety programs and procedures to maintain the highest standards of food quality and safety.
- Identify, assess, manage, and record hazards, risks, including fatal risks, and contribute to process improvement.
- Lead incident investigations with a focus on root cause identification and closure of corrective actions, ensuring up-to-date records in the safety management system.
- Conduct Safety Interactions to promote risk awareness and care among employees and leaders.
- Background in facilities management (FM) desired, with exposure to FM maintenance, housing, and various trades roles.
