Our client is a global leader in pioneering a whole of product life cycle approach to sustainable packaging. An opportunity has now presented itself for a Safety Lead at their Ettamogah site.
As a Safety Lead you will play a key role in developing and driving outcomes in environment and safety, providing expertise in the management of business risk, engaging and coaching managers, supervisors, and employees in fostering a high performance safety culture.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Implement and maintain a safety-first culture across the site by providing expert advice, support and leading by example.
- Engage colleagues, coach, and challenge behaviors to achieve a high level of performance and consistent and appropriate safety behaviors.
- Support and advise site personnel on safety and risk management methods.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits in line with the audit plan, to ensure consistency in compliance.
- Support with the development and coordination of strategies and continuous improvements to the Group HSES system.
- Facilitate implementation of organisational and site HSES systems as directed.
- Develop effective and strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
About You:
You will be an experienced administration professional with proven reliability and experience in a similar role within the production and manufacturing industry, ideally with a background in safety management.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Able to pass a drug and alcohol test, police, and medical check.
- Ability to pursue opportunities for transformational change.
- Ability to work in a faced paced environment.
- Driven to succeed and highly motivated.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of WHS and Environmental legislation, Codes of Practice, Standards, and associated obligation.
- Strong skills in hazard identification, risk management and incident investigation.
- Previous experience in developing, implementing, monitoring, and auditing Safety or Environmental Management Systems.
