In this pivotal role, you will:
- Architect and implement comprehensive safety management systems and procedures, ensuring compliance with WorkSafe Victoria regulations.
- Conduct meticulous risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections across all project sites, keeping watch over every detail.
- Be the go-to expert, providing invaluable guidance and training to the Company's workforce on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and incident reporting.
- Proactively identify and tackle potential hazards, implementing effective risk mitigation strategies before they materialize.
- Monitor adherence to safety regulations and legislation, ensuring open communication with relevant authorities.
- Foster a robust safety culture that thrives on continuous improvement, empowering employees to take ownership and actively participate.
- Prepare and submit accurate safety reports and documentation, keeping a clear historical record.
- Collaborate seamlessly with project managers, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to integrate safety into every project phase.
- Be a regular presence on site ensuring a safety first culture is implemented across the business.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field (highly desirable).
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Safety Manager within the construction industry.
- A proven track record of successfully implementing and maintaining safety management systems.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- A keen eye for detail, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A collaborative and proactive approach to safety, driven by a genuine passion for best practices.
- Current Victorian Working at Heights and Construction Induction cards (or willingness to obtain).
