- Continually improving the assets approach to managing the safety of work through the integration of evidenced based contemporary safety practice.
- Provide technical & practical safety expertise & mentoring to operations-based safety & line professionals.
- Review, revise & develop asset-wide safety standards and influence the design and establishment of asset & global HSE procedures and systems
- Facilitate workshops and lead asset and group wide projects.
- Support the provision of advice to WAIOs Asset Leadership Team (ALT) on safety matters, global practices and emerging trends.
- Support the development of Asset -level strategies and improvement initiatives for material safety issues.
- Monitor performance, analyse data and define improvements to HSE systems, structures and processes against our Group Level Documents and our legal obligations
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting as per legislative requirements, including effective document control and retention of records;
- Share Asset-level safety issues, global practices, emerging trends, achievements and improvement opportunities across the BHP Group.
- Represent the asset across BHP's global practice working groups.
- self-motivated professional with at least 5 years' mining / processing operations-based safety experience.
- confident with your communication and engagement skills, and you will have a solid record of achieving results through influence, coaching and mentoring.
- qualified & experienced in facilitating, training & coaching multi-level risk management processes, accident Investigations & field leadership as well as conversant with contemporary safety principles.
- Proficient with data / statistical analysis & reporting
- Current & connected with the continually evolving evidence based safety landscape.
- Degree or diploma OHS
- Proficiency in statistics & data analysis desirable
