The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Safety/HR Advisor to join our friendly and passionate team based in Hallam. There will be some travel required between sites.
Reporting to the Group Safety Manager, you will work closely with the Site Operations Manager at our Hallam Warehouse and the Production Manager at our small manufacturing site at Bayswater. You will provide advice and support to the team with identification and management of risks as well as delivering Safety and HR strategies, intiatives and activities including training. You will be an important part of our onsite presence building relationships and encouraging a positive health and safety culture.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead HR and Safety initiatives and develop a strong culture across the company
- Assist with the ongoing development and revision of the health and safety management system
- Develop internal controls and processes designed to ensure State and Federal compliance needs are met
- Assist in the development and review of workplace risk assessments, policies and procedures.
- Conduct workplace inspections and audits
- Participate in internal and external audits as required
- Assist in incident investigations
- Assist in the development and facilitation of Toolbox Talks and other site required group meetings (eg WHS Committee)
- Injury management including rehabilitation and return to work
- Support the team with training and development by working in with the annual training plan, as well as the preparation and delivery of training sessions with Managers, Supervisors and Staff for safety and HR topics as required.
- Support the team in managing employee welfare including conditions of work, contributing to and promote the business Health and Wellbeing Program (eg drug and alcohol testing, EAP service, managing onsite physiotherapy services etc) and communicating/escalating complaints to management (in a way that maintains confidentiality)

About you:
- Cert IV in Workplace Health and Safety
- Previous safety experience within a Warehouse and Logistics environment (preferable but not essential)
- Ability to understand and apply policies and procedures that meet legislative requirements with regard to HR and Safety
- Computer literacy in Microsoft office suite
- Good written and verbal communication skills including reporting skills
- Positive attitude and enjoy working in a team environment
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Current Australian C class Drivers Licence and own transport
