The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for someone with strong sales experience and customer focused values dedicated to assisting educators and students. We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic individual to join our Primary sales team. You will sell and promote our print and digital resources to the Primary education market in a designated territory in Queensland.
As a Learning Consultant you’ll be part of a passionate, hardworking team and will have full accountability for qualifying, pursuing, and successfully closing opportunities.
Reporting to the Head of Sales, School Division this position is based in Brisbane covering all Primary schools in Queensland, some country travel may be required.
Ideally, we are looking for a team player with exceptional interpersonal skills, proven sales skills and the ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders, demonstrating friendly, transparent, and proactive communication. Applicants must be self-motivated and have extraordinary problem-solving skills; questioning the status quo and taking calculated risks to meet customers’ needs.
The role
You'll be focused on:
- Proactively planning efficient territory coverage to drive and maximise sales.
- Manage a value-based sales cycle from qualification of need, through to objection handling, negotiation and closing sales.
- Delivering the best customer service possible, pre- and post-sale.
- Maintaining strong product knowledge to become a specialist on relevant products.
Responsibilities:
- Identify all new and untapped markets within a designated territory.
- Meet with key decision makers and present our products.
- Maintain and grow existing customers.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date territory information and submit fortnightly reports.
- Develop leads and marketing strategies based on market feedback.
- Achieve set sales targets and KPIs.
- Maintain a CRM system.
The successful applicant will have proven selling skills and demonstrate the ability to source new business through superior service.

You will need to be entrepreneurial and be able to work independently, whilst also contributing to a strong team environment. Prior experience in the publishing, bookselling or educational sector will be well regarded. A tertiary qualification is highly desirable and a full driver’s licence is essential. A Working with Children check will be required for this position.
